采访Uber CTO:他是如何加入Uber的以及给创业者的建议

他与Uber CEO面试了30钟头,拿到offer。三年来,从刚加入uber时的40个工程师发展到1200个工程师。Uber发展很快,看Google与Facebook的人做事,就像看慢动作回放一样。

他在采访中还指出了,某些人轻蔑地以为“Uber 仅仅是一个 app”,看他是怎么解释、怎么比喻的:“The app is just the skin. There are servers, dispatch, dynamic pricing, supply positioning, mapping, routing data — all of that infrastructure. Saying Uber is just an app is like saying Facebook is just a Timeline. There’s so many systems underneath that it’s like an iceberg — most of it is underwater that you don’t see. It’s tremendously challenging and also fun to work on.“

我相信每个工程师在职业生涯的某个阶段都会被问到类似的问题,“某某网站、某某app看上去很简单,为啥需要成千上万的全职员工来做”,你会怎么回答?
