很多开发者都会推崇Robert C. Martin的 Clean Code 一书中提及的软件工程准则,本文就是对于这些准则在JavaScript开发领域中的实践应用总结。本文并不仅仅是样式指南,而是对于如何编写出基于JavaScript实现的高可读性、高可用性以及可重构的软件系统。虽然本文对比的讲了很多好坏的实践,但并不是说本文就建议大家强制遵循所有的指南。实际上对于Clean Code的概念不同的团队、不同的开发者都会有不同的见解与看法,本文的很多观点也是充满争议。软件工程已经走过了五十多个年头,而我们也一直在前行,很难说有什么原则是永恒正确的。作者更希望这些指南与考量起到试金石的作用,成为评判团队JavaScript代码质量的考量标准之一。
最后还需要强调的,好的代码、好的架构都是慢慢衍化而来,切不可操之过急。千里之行,始于足下,在前行的道路上势必会走很多的弯路、错误,但是只要不断调整方向总会回到正确的道路上。我们不能畏惧改变,也不能把他人的话完全奉为圭臬,无论多少年的老程序员也是会犯错的、

限制函数的参数数目还是比较重要的,它能够方便对于函数的测试,避免需要进行不同的Case测试时把代码变得一团糟。我们应该尽可能地控制参数数目小于或等于两个,如果你的参数数目多于两个,那么建议使用高阶对象进行适当封装。

在任何情况下都不要去容许重复代码的存在。重复代码指那些修改单一逻辑时需要修改多个代码片的代码交集,JavaScript本身是弱类型语言,相对而言编写泛型函数会更加容易。

有的开发者会使用Flags来控制函数执行不同的逻辑流,不过就如我们在上文中提及的单一职责原则,我们应当将函数拆分为不同的部分,然后在外层调用上根据Flags调用不同的函数。

如果某个函数除了接收输入值与返回值之外还做了其他事,那么就称其具有副作用。典型的副作用譬如写文件、修改某些全局变量、修改内存参数等等。在编程中我们不可避免的需要产生副作用,譬如上面例子中我们需要写入到某个外部文件。而你应当做的就是将所有的写文件操作由某个服务统一处理,而不应该将写文件的操作分散到数个类或者函数中。这一点最大的优势在于避免了不同对象之间共享状态,共享的可变状态可是万恶之源啊。

JavaScript中有个不太好的实践就是修改某个全局函数,将其指向其他的库或者自定义函数,不过这个会对某个懵懂的用户造成困恼。如果你想给JavaScript原生的Array添加一个diff函数支持,来展示两个数组的差异。你可以选择将函数挂载到 Array.prototype
,不过很有可能跟其他打算占用这个位置的库起冲突。我们更建议使用ES6的classes,并且使用继承方式去添加新的功能函数。

很多时候我们会依赖于JavaScript输入的参数类型来进入不同的控制流,不过鉴于JavaScript本身是弱类型语言,我们还是应该避免这种实践。第一个方法就是使用较为一致性的接口。

在JavaScript的对象属性读写中,建议使用getter或者setter,而不是直接读取或者赋值。不过JavaScript并没有类似于public或者private这样的关键字,因此很难通过接口方式进行强限制。不过鉴于以下优势我们还是强烈建议使用getter或者setter:
1.如果你打算不仅仅是直接获取原始值,使用getter能够避免去修改每个取值的地方。
2.使用 set
能够方便地添加校验。
封装内部表述。
便于添加日志与错误处理。
通过继承能够复写默认功能。
支持属性懒加载。

便如Clean Code中所述,不应该为了多个理由去更改某个类的代码,这样会把某个类塞入过多的功能。最小化你需要去改变某个类的次数对于保证代码的稳定性至关重要,过多的改变代码会影响代码库中依赖于该类的其他模块。

正如Bertrand Meyer所述,譬如类、模块、函数这样的实体应该面向扩展开放,而拒绝修改。换言之,我们推荐去继承扩展某个函数或模块,而不是每次都去修改源代码。

JavaScript本身并不包含对于接口语法的支持,因此也无法像其他语言那样达到严格限制的程度。不过鉴于JavaScript本身类型系统的缺失,遵循接口隔离原则还是蛮重要的。ISP的表述为不应该强制客户端去依赖于他们不需要的接口,这一点在JavaScript中较为典型的例子就是那些需要大量配置信息的对象。其实使用者并不需要去关心每一个配置项,允许他们动态的设置能够节省大量的时间,代码的可读性也会更好。

This principle states two essential things:
High-level modules should not depend on low-level modules. Both should
on abstractions.
Abstractions should not depend upon details. Details should depend on
abstractions.
This can be hard to understand at first, but if you've worked with Angular.js,
you've seen an implementation of this principle in the form of Dependency
Injection (DI). While they are not identical concepts, DIP keeps high-level
modules from knowing the details of its low-level modules and setting them up.
It can accomplish this through DI. A huge benefit of this is that it reduces
the coupling between modules. Coupling is a very bad development pattern because
it makes your code hard to refactor.
As stated previously, JavaScript doesn't have interfaces so the abstractions
that are depended upon are implicit contracts. That is to say, the methods
and properties that an object/class exposes to another object/class. In the
example below, the implicit contract is that any Request module for an
InventoryTracker
will have a requestItems
method.

传统ES5的类实现语法对于类的继承、构建以及方法定义的可读性都不是很好。如果你考虑在类中实现继承,那么建议优先考虑ES6的类语法糖。如果你只是需要构建简单的对象,那么可以考虑使用ES5的基本函数定义来构造类对象。

Against the advice of Clean Code, this is one place where we will have to differ.
It has been argued that method chaining is unclean and violates the Law of Demeter .
Maybe it's true, but this pattern is very useful in JavaScript and you see it in
many libraries such as jQuery and Lodash. It allows your code to be expressive,
and less verbose. For that reason, I say, use method chaining and take a look at
how clean your code will be. In your class functions, simply return this
at
the end of every function, and you can chain further class methods onto it.

As stated famously in the Gang of Four ,
you should prefer composition over inheritance where you can. There are lots of
good reasons to use inheritance and lots of good reasons to use composition.
The main point for this maxim is that if your mind instinctively goes for
inheritance, try to think if composition could model your problem better. In some
cases it can.
You might be wondering then, "when should I use inheritance?" It
depends on your problem at hand, but this is a decent list of when inheritance
makes more sense than composition:
Your inheritance represents an "is-a" relationship and not a "has-a"
